ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I find my drawing are a very important factor in my artistic process. I start each faceless series with closing my eyes and putting the charcoal to the surface and let my subconscious guid my hand across the canvas. From within these marks I find figures that I then paint with an expressive movement. I intentionally leave the charcoal marks from the drawings behind. I feel that they are needed to create the story in my paintings. I also leave most of the surface untouched it give the figures the space they need to stretch across the canvas.
