This piece attempts to portray the feelings of a new serious relationship. You find yourself becoming vulnerable and having less control of what can happen. For things to grow in a positive way, I think it's important to let go and be brave. The seeds symbolise the planting and potential growth of something new. The falling person is a visual representation of the phrase to 'fall for someone'.

I'm Simone Elliot and I come from a small village in the Scottish Borders but I am an avid traveler. I am currently (and temporarily) in the Aberdeen (thanks CoVid19). All of my art is inspired by life, by the issues that face me at the time of painting - so each piece is very unique, emotional and personal. I paint to express my feelings about things and in the hope that what I communicate, resonates with you as the viewer. I am influenced by the work of artists like Jack Vettriano, who use dramatic lighting to convey a mood. However I am inspired by any artist that can make people feel something with their works, can prompt conversations between people or communicate with people in some way. I am most confident using acrylic paint on canvas but I experiment with other media too.
