In my abstracts, there is always an underlying story of paint beneath the one visible. I begin with expressive movement and color and slowly refine what you will be able to see. Sometimes the hardest part is covering up a movement so that better things can develop. Like life, I have to let go of some of the seemingly good moments in the piece to arrive at the best.

My first love was watercolor. After 30 years painting in that medium I began painting in oil. I fell in love with the difference. I love the paint colors, the way mixing them bring out a vibrancy that you can’t get from a single tube color. I love how the color wheel from third grade makes so much sense here on my palette. I love seeing my art hung in places I never imagined it would hang, brick coffee house walls, expansive winery walls, little cottage shop walls. I have been painting for 34 years and have taught painting to children and adults in private classes and workshops. I have sold to art lovers across the country and internationally.
