Since my early childhood, my father was a sailor, I have always had a direct connection to rivers, the sea and lakes. Life on the water still fascinates me today. So water is always present in my work.
I was born in 1953 in a small town on the Rhine. After school and an apprenticeship, I studied graphic design in Trier and then painting at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin.
This was followed by many years abroad, often on islands in Europe and overseas. During this time I also had my first major exhibitions, for example in Ibiza, but also in Trier and Berlin.
After twelve years back in Germany. I lived with my family near Bremen on the Weser. Since a few years now I have my residence and my studio in Sandstedt, directly on the Weser River, close to the North Sea.
