About The Artwork
Spending time photographing and watching the changing colours of the coastline I live on is the colour inspiration of my artworks. The fish swirls are detailed, draw you in and at the same time they are relaxing. I start with the background colour and the strokes of the brush determine whether the painting will be a swirl or flowing wave. Once the first fish is painted I then paint where it takes me. Standing back and viewing is essential to ensure the shading, light & dark effects give the illusion of the center of the swirl. My new paintings feature more detailed fish which I love too.
