ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It is self portrait with added burnmarks. I actually was using photo of acidburn victims from India to paint burn marks. I've done that artwork when I was studing on Fine Art Accademy in Cracov. Our proffesor created small competition for us on subject "FIRE". I didn't want to just paint fire, i wanted to show effects of fire, so I apllied burmarks on my selfportiat and used candlelight. For me term "fire" is also reffering to lust, and love. I wanted to create link between myself and women of the world who were victims of attacks with using acid. In here burnmarks symbolize control witch abusers want to gain on the women, and stripping person of their power. But also main and only source of light is candlefire. And it alowes us to see scars of the person. There is duality of fire as destructive force and as positive force, just like love and lust
