ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In this artwork, I wanted to convey the feeling of collapse. And my sense of the fragility of the tangibility of happiness. Moonlit night, stars - everything looks like a crystal world flies past this lost girl. It seems the girl is flying down at great speed. Her hairstyle seems to also dissolve in this stream. And it seems to be nothing to hold her. But we often risk. And the feeling of adrenaline from the risk, from this walk on the edge of a knife attracts many. The painting was created by to decorative techniques. The image of the moon and sky are stylized. At the bottom of the painting lines begin to lengthen, thereby creating a feeling of acceleration of the flight. The artwork looks great both up close and at a distance. Shades of blue, purple and emerald shimmer very beautifully. Despite all the drama of the plot, the work itself does not depress. It has a play of color, texture, metal brilliance, which captivates the eye and makes you want to look at it for a long, long time. The artwork was created in mixed media: acrylic, silver leaf, oil. Painting without a stretcher.

Searching for my own path in painting took me a certain time. It has passed nine years since my first attempts to paint. However, during last several years I have started feeling self-assured, as my works reached desired level of skilfulness and artistic approach, and I really started liking them. Currently my love to post-impressionist artists' paintings became especially strong. I am often inspired by the works of Vincent van Gogh, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Edouard Vuillard, Albert Marquet, and Latvian artist Janis Valters. Most of all I value coloristic beauty of their works as well as the artists’ ability to show the weather conditions and the state of the nature with one brush stroke. Now I look into the future with greater confidence, think over new creative plans, and expect fulfilling them!
