ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Flight of a nocturnal butterfly is a series that continues my artistic research that investigates the relationship between human, nature and divine, with particular attention to the climatic and environmental emergency that our planet is facing. Each piece is created by hand sewing black cotton canvas using silk, cotton and raffia threads, witch are all natural fibers. The butterfly is the symbol of metamorphosis and transformation par excellence. The human being is called to a change, a new consciousness of the material and spiritual world. We are in constant connection with everything that surrounds us. Giving space to listening and silence offers us the possibility to observe our path from above, to feel the uniqueness of one's individuality free from conditioning, to recognize the essential and to focus the direction of our actions towards an awareness necessary for the evolution of collectivity. Each work is shipped with the certificate of authenticity and with the utmost care in safe shipping.

Manuela Mirai lives and works in Sardinia, Italy. Her artistic research is focused on studies of color, matter and space. She is inspired by the nature of the place where she was born, and through her work she investigates the relationship between human being, nature and divine. In 2019, she completed her Bachelor Degree in painting and Visual Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari. She has taken part in several exhibitions, including the Cà Pesaro Gallery in Venice, the Giorgio Amendola Foundation in Turin, the Museum in Sassari and the Gavino Ballero Theatre in Alghero. Manuela works mainly with painting, drawing and textiles.
