About The Artwork

My reference and source of inspiration is the Atlantic Forest, a rich ecosystem that is severely threatened and stretches along the eastern and southern coasts of Brazil. Trees bring us a powerful symbology for life cycles, relationship with the environment, and the different moments we go through, such as the spring, summer, autumn, and winter seasons. It also represents the cyclical character of cosmic evolution: Life, death, and regeneration.

My artistic proposal has as its starting point Nature, its colors and its designs. Based on the basic precepts of Anthroposophy, Integrative Art and Art Therapy, which aims to cure through art and the integration of man with nature, I use elements such as flowers, trees, gardens and landscapes. Since I was little, my joy was being in contact with the natural. And it was on the coast of São Paulo that I had my first contact with oil painting. When I went to the beach very early in the morning I watched an artist with her easel and paints: my first teacher. She reproduced all that beauty through her brushes. And it was at this moment that she looking at me and understanding my look of enchantment and admiration, asked: Do you like to paint? Want to learn? In that instant the brightness of the colors warmed my heart. Since then I have not stopped painting. In these thirty years of research and artistic production, Nature is a recurring theme. Through drawing, painting, collage and assemblage I use materials such as acrylic paint, natural pigments, anilines and dry pastels, reusing elements discarded by nature.
