My personal reinterpretation of the traditional and naive folk art motives found mostly on furniture and house items. With this as with my other works I am trying to "rewrite" the history of folk and rural art by adding the element of queernes that was avoided in the past. It´s also an exploration o...

My work is a vibrant reinterpretation of traditional folk art and so called Bauernmalerei, drawing inspiration from the rich interplay between nature and human relationships. Infused with the bright, vivid palette and cheery aesthetics of naive art, my paintings offer a surreal retelling of untold personal and queer histories embedded within these traditional styles. Each piece seeks to uncover and celebrate diverse narratives, weaving these stories into the lush, symmetrical floral designs and whimsical scenes that define my art. Through this colorful and often joyous lens, I aim to bridge the past and present, illuminating the diverse tapestry of human experience in harmony with nature. ---- At the moment I work between Berlin and Blumenhagen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as painter but also graphic designer and illustrator. In the past I worked as cultural manager and project coordinator. I am the co-founder of the Tac.ka artists´association in Bosnia and founder of the Ars Kozara art in nature laboratory. I also founded an annual award for murals called Prijedor - City of Murals. In 2010 I worked at the Cynetart, a computer based arts festival in Dresden. My fields of interest and artistic explorations are: drawing/illustration, research art, artists´ archives and museums, memory culture, aesthetic of protests and public activism, computer based arts and art in nature.
