ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This part of the human body captures me with the power of aesthetic impression and the depth of symbolic meaning. When I contemplate it, a monumental landscape begins to unfold in front of me, filled with complex structures of wrinkles and cracks, descents and ascents. In its intersecting lines, I see how a movement has been fixed in an attractive graphic scheme that overcomes obstacles in its path. You can see how the nature of this form reveals its function and purpose. What a rough texture has a surface which is naturally under constant pressure withstanding the main load. It constantly resists gravity, and at the same time provides contact with the earth. Maybe this is a coincidence, but it and the surface of the earth also remind me. Or maybe there is actually a mystical connection? And how her large protrusions correspond to her strength and stamina ... How insensitive the surface should be, which is literally designed to face obstacles at every step ... The uneven, worn-out old texture reflects the difficult fate that befell the foot. Therefore, the choice of material of the old rough burlap for this work is based on the desire to reveal the nature of the phenomenon by artistic means. The beauty of the old and the gross is the aesthetic principle consciously laid down here.
