Fortuitous Print

Painting abstract provides a sense of freedom in my process. It allows the release of my most intimate thoughts and feelings, serving as a creative outlet for my perceptions. These paintings represent my artistic expression in a very spiritual state—from my emotional feelings, life experiences, to my vivid dreams. I want my audience to experience the spiritual quality that is evident in my painting’s composition and colours. Using different textured surfaces and contrasting colours, I abandon the rendering of geometrical forms found in my crystal paintings. Instead of using the paintbrush as a tool, I relied predominantly on the use of palette knives and sponges to create different textures and erratic mixture of colours. In this series, I want to celebrate the unpredictable record of life by allowing control and chance to ultimately decide the end result of my paintings.
