About The Artwork
Buffalo Trace is the oldest continuously operating distillery in America. During Prohibition the distillery was permitted to remain operational, making whiskey for "medicinal purposes". Within the past decade, Buffalo Trace has won an unmatched seven "Distillery of the Year" titles. In this painting I’ve featured four of the legendary bourbon’s from the distillery. Blanton’s, Buffalo Trace, E.H. Taylor and Eagle Rare. The unique bottle shapes of both Buffalo Trace and Blanton’s, allowed for some interesting highlights and reflections on the surface and amplified the distortions reflecting through the glass. The curling smoke rising from the Perez Carrillo cigar adds to the quiet solitude of the moment.
