About The Artwork

Expressionism on OSB wood board. When I found my identity as a painter, one of the things that inspired me was expressionism (Jackson Pollack) but I wanted to 'create' something different with an image/theme that would be at the heart of the painting. This image is called 'Fredinator' because during the paint splattering, red paint fell in the eye making a red dot. This gave an aspect of the 'Terminator' to the image of Freddie Mercury. I chose wood as a support instead of canvas because it gives a different aspect to the painting and it is my way of adding my personal identity as wood is a living/natural material. This painting is made using household acrylic paint and splashed using different tools.

I was initiated into art quite early in my life by my mother, around the age of 5 and it became my passion. Initially I used to do fine art but was always looking for that spark that could give me my own identity. Born in India and lived around the world, I never took art classes nor did I do any art school. Engineer by profession, art has been one of my passions that is now a big part of my life. I sold my first painting at the age of 14 and did my first exhibition around the same age in Bombay. Having found my art identity I now plan to exhibit my works (art and sculptures) and put them up for sale. My style varies from Abstract using brushes and knives to pour techniques and using different tools to create (like sticks, droppers, syringes etc) art. My art expresses colour and vibrancy. I rarely paint on canvases but use OSB and other wooden supports as well as metal sheets and foam boards. The fragility of my art is expressed not only in the artwork itself but also the support used.
