A young woman in her nightgown reflects on a new day from a balcony in Madrid. The painting on the wall is a reproduction of a painting of the Infanta Margarita by Diego Velázquez, (1599-1660). An art consultant opined that the woman on the balcony was likely a prostitute. Sometimes, a woman on a balcony is just a woman. This image is also available as an archival (archival inks and paper) digital print.

United States
I paint oils and watercolors in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern California. The images in my paintings come from two worlds: Daylight—the life we experience when we are awake, and Nightlight—the lives we live when we are asleep. What I try to paint cannot be seen, so distinguishing between the two worlds is a matter of only minor importance.
