Born in Moscow during the Soviet era, I came to Germany (2000) to start a family via a detour of studying economics and research in Moscow, Illinois (USA), Barcelona and Göttingen. In Germany I was able to put my childhood dream of professional painting into practice by studying at the Institute of Fine Arts and Art Therapy in Bochum and later practice it. My paintings can be divided into two categories: “salon painting” and existential painting. As part of “salon painting” I create works that enrich daily life with happy moments. Portraits of people of all ages in appropriate style and naturalistic still lifes are popular. In existential painting I explore questions about dilemmas of our life. Personal experiences from different cultures in the East and West enable a new perspective.
