About The Artwork

"Funny House" is one of the paintings that arises in the middle of Covid and is part of the collection "Anyone Day", paintings that try to talk about the transience of time, about apparent situations of false reality, to express imprecise, open premonitions with images . They also deal with artificial light from screens, where digital manipulation and color-light take place. Josep Maria Fontanet. "Any day" collects a series of paintings where reality is invented from images found online and the artist’s own, digitally altered before being transformed into painting on canvas. They talk about many things, but I would emphasize the impossibility of stopping time and the interaction or interference between reality and virtuality. "In his current production, Fontanet faces the problem of artificial light beyond electricity, reflecting on the power of non-existent realities created from various sources; .."

Josep Maria Fontanet, Barcelona 1955. Closely linked to Santa Coloma de Farners and, by extension, with the Girona region of La Selva, the artist Josep Maria Fontanet i Sureda (Barcelona, 1955), with a creative career that starts in 1979, when he first exhibited at the Art Farners gallery, he has carried out in recent years an introspective task that has led him to the original and intense work that he now presents to us in the city which has hosted it for more than half a century. The canvases are the final hatching of a past focused on painting, sculpture and publications, which now seen as a whole, it is shown to us as the path taken in search of the expressive truths that have finally come to light. Josep Maria Cadena Catalán, Journalist and Art Critic. 2018. Josep Maria Fontanet, Barcelona 1955. 2018. Josep Maria Fontanet, Barcelone 1955.
