Dmitry Wild was born in Moscow, Russia. Immigrated to United States with his family as an early teen in 1993. He lived in Queens the whole time until in 2008 he moved to California where he started painting until his move back to New York due to a family emergency. Dmitry Wild works with acrylic paint. His process of self-expression and emotional outburst of colors on a canvas resembles more a spiritual cleansing than a school of art thought. Mostly the paintings are created outside since they are large canvases and the procedure gets very messy. He dips long sticks of pencils into paint and waits for the wind to control the direction of where the paint falls or, at other times, the strokes are created by violent throws of paint on the canvas. He has had a number of solo shows around upstate New York. He took part in the Art Festival of Piermont and also his work was featured in few movies. He has had no official art education aside for being a web designer and working with colors resulted as a natural flow of things to come. His other vocations are being a writer and a musician. He started painting during a family trauma, which ignited a feeling of despair and a need for immediate release. He finished 6 canvases in 1 month. Currently he lives in Queens, New York with his family.
