I have just made a small series of blue branches on a tinted background with a golden contour. They are quite small and I find them soft, gentle and poetic. Here is the ginkgo diptych.

Born in 1979 in Paris, France from a Scottish family, Alexandra Rouard was introduced to oil paints at a very early age by her Scottish grandmother during her many stays with her family in Scotland. After graduating from secondary school, she decided to study art and entered a preparatory class in order to pass the Beaux Arts or the Arts Décoratifs admission exam in Paris. This resulted in her leaving the educational system to attend independent ateliers during two years. Painting being difficult to earn a living, Alexandra changed orientations and started a graphic design course that lasted three years. In 2003, newly graduated with a Master in Artistic Direction and Multimedia, the "Galerie Italienne" in Paris recruited her for a duration of three years. That experience proved fruitful in order to understand the many ways of the art world. As of 2007, Alexandra Rouard dedicates herself entirely to her art, that explores intersections of memory and identity, depicting people she meets, childhood fairy-tales, forests and scenery in Scotland. She lives and works in Saint-Cloud, a suburb of Paris.
