About The Artwork

The painting’s title is obviously descriptive! I loved painting this little girl with her super-expressive eyes and facial expression! Even her hands have expression! I enjoy painting portraits at this size as I have lots of room for color and brush strokes to help communicate the message of the painting! I hope you enjoy this painting! I hope it makes you smile! It is a joy for me to share it with you! I am so thankful for all the inspiring muses on the @sktchyapp that lend their images to artists like myself. All these portraits are soulful and expressive. Many are contemplative, some are humorous. Each one digs deep into the soul & character of the muse who inspired the portrait. The challenge of capturing the subject of my portraits is always such fun. I hope you enjoy all the beautiful faces. I have so much fun making these paintings.

Wife, mom, artist, graphic designer, bookworm! “Art brings people together.” With my paintings, I tell stories that cross traditional barriers such as gender, age, income, education & race to help us understand the most important art of all — "The art of being human.” "Every Painting Tells a Story." I love to paint people. The human face and figure is the most captivating subject for me. I enjoy painting the snippets of life. Capturing folks enjoying a summer afternoon in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia or children having summer fun in a city park. I paint everyday people and moments in life. The goal of my work is to make a connection with the viewer. I hope in some small way, my work sends a message out into the world. A message of hope, of change and of social justice. I hope, that when my art hangs in your home, it provokes thought and meaning to you. Awards • I am honored to have received a "Knight Foundation" cash honorarium in connection with the Free Library of Philadelphia's Cultureshare program. • Best Emerging Artist. 2019 Manayunk Arts Festival. • Honorable Mention. 2018 Manayunk Arts Center Annual Juried Show. • "Philadelphia Stories."
