Fertility is a woman’s power to create new life from her own. During birth, mother and child are joined — yet concurrently, they approach separation. This in-between stage is both agony and joy. Fertility Doll speaks to the celebrations and struggles of conception and birth — just as the push of the newborn connects us to life’s true essence. VOO’s work is inspired by a fertility doll the artist has owned for over 30 years — which, after her own struggles with conception, brought her the gift of childbirth. VOO hopes viewers use her artwork to focus their intentions, to find peace through struggle, and to celebrate the extraordinary power of women.
