This painting is influenced by an Indian art form called kalamkari. Kalamkari is originated in Andhra Pradesh, a southern state of India. Kalamkari literally means 'Kalam', a persian word for pen and 'kari' meaning doing or working. This art form is mainly done with the help of pen using natural dyes. Devi Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth as per Hindu mythology. To depict the rich of the painting background is done in plain golden colour. This painting is Varnished to protect it from dust and UV ray.
