What/who inspired the work? The use of bold colors and loose brushstrokes are inspired by Expressionist painters like Mark Rothko or Willem de Kooning. The abstract shapes and swirling forms is influenced by Abstract Expressionism or Surrealism. The pops of metallic gold paint add a touch of luxury and glamour, which is inspired by Art Deco or Pop Art. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? I want viewers to feel energized and inspired by the bright colors and dynamic composition. The abstract forms invite viewers to use their imaginations and interpret the painting in their own way. The metallic gold paint adds a sense of opulence and sophistication. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? I chose acrylic paint because it dries quickly and allows you to work in layers. The abstract subject matter is a way for me to express myself freely and without constraints. The loose and gestural style reflects my personality and my creative process.
