ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece came about in a way that was unusual for me. I had finished it and I really liked it, but it sat for a year. I looked at it and thought "I really like this piece. It's very good, but it's not great". So I began working on it again and out came this beauty and emotion that wasn't there before. It started to transform before my eyes into something remarkable. I was scared to put paint to canvas and potentially ruin what I thought was already good but I thought "If I only settle for good because I'm afraid to make it great, I'm in trouble." Let's never be afraid to put ourselves out there and be the best version of ourselves we can be.

My goal in art is always connection. I have a restless mind and anxieties that make everyday life difficult. It's challenging to express thoughts on life, love, loss and hope in conversation, but creating artwork allows me to turn my inside outward. I'm grateful for art in all its forms. When words aren't enough-I create. Specializing in mixed media, I enjoy bringing elements onto the canvas that help express feeling. I use both wood and canvas as a base and pretty much anything goes as far as what I will put in and on the artwork. I studied visual art at the University of California, Los Angeles and my work has been shown throughout the United States. I will have pieces on display at The River in Rancho Mirage, CA starting in June.
