Greenback Print

This is a still life painting of a variety of objects arranged in a particular manner. A green coat and rucksack hang on the back of a fold up chair, a crimson beanie pokes out of the coat pocket. A navy sarf links the rucksack, the coat to the mirror on the floor. A broom balances on the chair, over the mirror creating two diagonals with its refelection. The canvas was not primed when painted this image, the oils were heavily dilluted with solvent which creates a bleeding effect in certain places. The colours I have chosen reflected the unsavoury mood I was in at the time of painting. I favoured sickly yellows, pale oranges contrasted with an almost black green. The dry, sloppy brushmarks contribute to this nasty aesthetic.
