ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Music has always been a movement not just in dance but in life. I am inspired by different genres of music because I use to be a d.j. as well as have my own radio show in Chicago and Indiana. Music puts me in the mood to dance but also to create and as I was listening to some Marvin Gaye I decided to create this imagery of people playing Swinging on the beach to the awesome sound of music. It was a time to recognize that we didn't have to worry about racism, or gun violence instead they are surrounded by music and peace. I hope the viewer takes the time to enjoy my painting, it has real sand on the canvas from Miller beach at the bottom so if viewers want to slightly touch it because it makes it interactive and has texture.

I have a BS in Communications and minor in Fine Art because I have been self taught for so long that I didn't want a major in something I was already very knowledgable about.
