"Guiding Star" Fine Art Print

After endless trips to the Philadelphia Museum of Art every week while I was in college, I longed for an expression other than always trying to articulate myself and be understood. I would draw here and there and paint but it wasn't till those museum trips seeing each painting filled with a story and made me start to question. I started studying philosophers and artists, how they were able separate from the norm then comeback with a new idea. I started to live that way I separated from what I was told and dove into the arts and different ways of thinking then brung those ideas to the canvas. I base my paintings off of Soren Kierkegaard's Either or, the idea of aesthetic vs ethics and how someone chooses unconsciously or even consciously, if they are someone of aesthetics or someone who lives by ethics so in each painting I try to replicate those ideas.
