About The Artwork

Not your typical bluebonnet painting. Artists have been capturing the Texas bluebonnets for centuries. I strive to paint them in a non-traditional way. Stylizing the landscape to capture the personality and beauty of the place. Painted with eco-friendly M. Graham oil colors on a linen-covered board.

“I am an artist; I have always been an artist. As far back as my memory serves, creating art has liberated me from life’s daily struggles. The concept of time passing becomes an abstraction when I am immersed in creating.” — LC I am first and foremost an en plein air painter. Leaving the studio behind and heading into the great outdoors provides an endless source of inspiration. The challenges presented by painting nature while being part of that nature have taught me a tremendous amount about studying light and manipulating paint. The process encourages an energetic spontaneous brushstroke. The one thing that brings me inside my home studio is the painting of pets. The opportunity to get to know these amazing creatures and watch them take shape on the canvas is a joy. These paintings are all about love and it is a pleasure and honor to create them. I currently reside in Dallas, a long way from the mountains of New York where I was born and raised. I attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, earning a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and enjoy a successfully career as a commercial artist and a fine artist.
