ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Hannah’s Juniper Tree” came to me when I was backpacking through the back country of Southern Utah. The Juniper is an extremely unique tree with all its twists, knots and course stringy bark. It thrives in very harsh conditions and is often found growing strong in unbelievably desolate terrane. Junipers are predominately brown and colorless. But when you strip them of their bark you find remarkable colors and patterns! I felt inspired to paint a particular Juniper Tree in the Hannah region of Utah because of its bizarre twists and off centered branches. The vivid colors are representative of its hidden beauty.
