I work and live in UK with my family. I am originally from Sri Lanka. I was brought up and educated in a picturesque environment in Sri Lanka and my home town is Kandy which is covered with mountains and other natural beauties. That environment has led me to draw and paint various landscapes since I was a little girl. I always admire natural beauty and love to do landscape paintings. In the year 2000 I moved to UK to join with my husband. The changing climatic patterns and the beautiful landscapes in UK, gave me a big kick to continue the paintings in different settings, even though I have got a very busy life. I love go for walks and be with the nature, watching changing seasons. I thoroughly enjoy every season. Painting is a meditation for me. I just shut down everything around me when I do a painting. It brings me so much of pleasure. My other interests other than landscape paintings, are pottery paintings and fabric paintings. Always art had been a pleasurable thing in my life and I love to do any sort of art work during my leisure time. I have done paintings for various competitions when I was in the primary school and secondary school. Also whenever I get an opportunity I would love to enter into any art competitions. But more than competitions I do painting for my own inner pleasure or as a therapy. I am a leisure artist who loves to produce an output in my own space. My favourite medium is acrylic,oil, also use charcoal and pastel. I am a member of Surrey Art Fairs and Art Buddies. I love displaying my paintings and other art works in exhibitions.
