ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Harmony" is a part of The "Russian Seasons in Paris" series. This series was born in France, where I spent several years. It soon became my favourite subject. This series pays tribute to the famous Russian dancers, such as Anna Pavlova, Olga Spessivtseva, Tamara Krasavina, Mathilde Kschessinskaya, Ida Rubinstein, that were part of Diegilev troup. I find silk the best medium for my artworks due to its' fineness, legerity and transparency. Silk is a material that can perfectly convey the grace, elegance and weightlessness of ballerinas. I used golden and white liner together with various shades of blue in order to create a painting that reminds me frozen window pattern that appeares when it's too cold outside. "Harmony" is about balance that we may neglect sometimes, but balance is the basis of everything: to dance we need a balance too. This piece will bring harmony and everyday beauty to its' owner!

My name is Daria Tikhomirova and I live and work in Barcelona. I'm inspired a lot by silk and I mostly work with this fabric. I love its' softness, transparency. It made me think if silk paintings with 3D effect. You may find one in my profile, it's "Russian Seasons in Paris" with 5 ballerinas. There are two layers of silk that create this effect of third dimension. I love ballet and I have a series of works with ballet dancers. I participated in the Salon des Artistes Français in 2016 and in Drouot sales (organised by musee MoLA). In 2018 I took part in the Salon des Artistes Indépendants in the Grand Palais (Paris). I regularly take part in exhibitions in Russia.
