The theme of this piece - the stroke of the brush. It was interesting for me how gentle touches by the brush to the canvas are imprinted, combined and create new spaces.

I’ve always like the smell of acrylic and oil-based paints, even the smell of thinner. My favorite pastime has always been mixing and playing with paint. It’s interesting to me how colors mix and how the overlap; they add to one another and balance one another out. Sometimes I like to think to myself that the whole world can fit on one palette. Every piece for me is like a mini adventure that I set off on; a part of the world that I have never explored before. Sometime I have an approximate “map” in my head, which I rely on. Sometimes I don’t. There is only an inner push that whispers to me: “It is time to move” and I start to paint. If I can manage to stop the influx of my thoughts and fully concentrate on my process, then that is a state of pure bliss. Usually something organic will appear on my canvas. And to my surprise, when I step away from my work, I’ll realize that certain images are present from the outside world and my memories. I have been painting for a long time just for my own pleasure, but recently, it seemed to me that it could be interesting to other people.
