Born in Bad Reichenhall, Germany in 1951, Josef Hirthammer consciously defies categorization. His versatile work does not allow classic drawer thinking. Diversity is his trademark. His design media are painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital painting, sculpture and installations. Strictly persecuted diversity characterizes its multifaceted forms of expression and philosophies. He is considered one of the most versatile artists of our time and has created a large number of works of art in the 40 years of his artistic activity. His works include delicate and subtle drawings and prints, expressive and large-format painting, objects in wood, wax, stone and metal, sensitive work in and with nature, documenting and abstracting photographic works up to digital designs. Over the years, he has intensified the two main areas "contemporaries" and "nature" as primary fields of creativity and constantly redesigned them.
