I love to explore the world around me through painting and drawing. I’m inspired by the colour and energy of landscapes and personality and characters found in wildlife, pets and farm animals. I have to draw and paint. Sometimes I want to work quickly, other times I want to focus on a detail or explore a subject and see if it can be simplified to a line. My new favourite tool is my Chinese brush – the variation of line and sense of flow is exciting to me. My favourite material is ink, then watercolour for its fluidity and potential for happy accidents. My studio is based in Birmingham, England and I graduated with a BA (Hons.) in Illustration from Falmouth College of Arts back in 2000. My fascination for how things work also led me to become a trained medical artist.
