My name is Marli Naidoo, and I was born in beautiful South Africa in 1981. I have always been obsessed with the language of art. The stream of emotion and even turmoil that  the sight of an artworks can generate has drawn me in, and given me the desire to have the ability to communicate in this way. I  am a self taught artist, who learnt  through practical experience, the help of experienced artists, and by studying the works of local South African artists as my teachers. It was in this way that I further expanded my knowledge in portraiture, combining it with a desire to speak through my art. I am fascinated by people and can observe them for extended lengths of time. Most of my work has always been human and pet portrait commissions. My works are primarily in acrylics and oils.  I currently work from home on a farm in rural South Africa, with an open verandah as my favorite studio.
