View In My Room
In addition to everything else on our mind, we are supposed to be very afraid of the A.I. replacing us and our human roles. Well, algorithm be damned. No machine can think like I do and be and act like me. For, I am imperfect. And I like it just the way I am.

Gina Son is a Korean-American painter whose work reinterprets the spirit of French Impressionism through a contemporary, cross-cultural lens. Through her Parisian café paintings, she captures the quiet poetry of women in moments of reflection, solitude, and light—revealing the shared emotional threads that connect people across cultures. Based in Austin, Gina has lived and worked in Paris, Rome, London, Tokyo, Seoul, Santorini, and Honolulu. These experiences continue to shape her artistic sensibility, inspiring paintings infused with the atmosphere, rhythm, and intimacy of the cities she has called home. Her work often centers on café scenes and urban interiors, where architecture, light, fashion, and gesture converge to create emotionally resonant narratives. Influenced by masters such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Marc Chagall, Mary Cassatt, and John Singer Sargent, Gina explores femininity, memory, elegance, and the emotional texture of everyday life. Artistically inclined from early childhood, Gina received the National Scholastic Gold Key Award in Hawaii during high school. She later earned a master’s degree in International Relations, reflecting her lifelong fascination with culture, communication, and human connection. Fluent in four languages, she brings a deeply international perspective to her work, with each painting serving as a bridge between visual storytelling and lived cultural experience. Gina has presented solo exhibitions in Seoul and participated in group exhibitions in Honolulu. Her paintings celebrate both the beauty of shared moments and the quiet strength found in solitude. Through color, atmosphere, and human presence, she hopes to offer viewers a sense of warmth, reflection, and enduring connection.
