The initial intentions for my paintings are rarely apparent at the end. I focus on following the flow of the paint to discover where it will lead. Letting go of expectations and the desire of what I want is challenging, but the joy and freedom of "anything goes" is worth the risk every time. Painting layers of rich translucent colors to create visual texture is key to my painting. I enjoy experimenting with a variety of tools and viscosity of paint to discover textures and shapes that reveal the landscape over time.
