Beauty attracts beauty: Among the most beautiful gifts of nature are colorful flowers that attract not only the attention of people but also of birds, another lovely living creatures. The sun’s rays guide the birds to where beauty awaits them, as symbolized by green and yellow colors. The hummingbirds are surrounded by wonderful and attractive but may be at some times challenging environment. The artwork is a result of my appreciation of nature and the wonderful creations around us. We don’t have to travel far to see these lovely sights, they are everywhere and we are surrounded by them. Also represented in this artwork are the bright yellow flowers, the golden sun, the cool breeze, the exotic foliage and the unknown perils. These things may be ordinary to some people but to others, they are breathtaking.

I spent my childhood years in the picturesque town of Angono, Rizal, dubbed as “Art Capital” of the Philippines. Although a Bachelor of Arts major in English graduate, my early exposure to the visual arts had imbibed in me the love and interest in the visual arts. At an early stage, I taught myself how to paint and developed my own modern and unique style. I use a wide spectrum of colors to portray an everyday life but presented in a whole new perspective. I take my inspiration from my environment. Simple things viewed from a different angle can produce a meaningful work of art. I had already produced and sold numerous paintings mostly on colorful modern cubism using acrylic, water color, pastels and my preferred medium oil on canvas. I use my artistic gift to encourage, promote optimism, to offer hope and to enlighten emotions. This is done by using bright, lively and invigorating colors that aim to uplift and inspire the mood of viewers.
