ABOUT THE ARTWORK

- What is this painting about? - It is about the war. That... War envelops all the space in you, around, the thoughts of a person, his house. It may seem to a person that he/she can distance himself/herself from the war, but he is essentially locked in this nightmare. What emotion is experienced by the main character in the picture? - The right hand symbolizes the protection of oneself, one's home. The left hand symbolizes fatigue created by despair. - And what does this cube in the center symbolize? - War inside the house. - The strip that unites the window and... - It's like a collapse, a crack. - Ah, that is, because of this small line, we understand that the war is also happening inside the house.   ⁃ A person cannot hide completely. No matter how safe a person feels, the war remains inside forever.

My name is Elzhana, I was born in the south of Ukraine in the magical city of Odessa. This city is my home, my friend and my family. Red cats walk there, it smells of warm dust and chicken cubes. Here I began my path as an artist, graduated from the Grekov Art School, immersed myself in the art painting and continued my journey. I had been studying for 8 years already when I moved to Kyiv and entered the Academy of Arts, but I still could not call myself an artist. This was my personal tragedy. I learned from incredible people how to pain in different styles, in different genres... but I couldn't “create”. At some point, I moved to the faculty of formal painting, with this phrase in my head: "If I create at least one good painting in this life, I will find happiness" And 3 months later I painted my first artwork. My own painting..
