About The Artwork
My generation grew up expecting jet packs by the age of 30. The symbol of the human zipping across the blue sky now looks like something else entirely. What it looks like is complex- there is humor there, and nostalgia. But for me there is also hope, the hope for a better tomorrow, the hope that our dependence on our cleverness will not prove to be misplaced. Its what keeps us moving forward through some very dark times, be they personal or historical, and its this human hope I want to celebrate. For those about to hope, I salute you.
