'I See You' is a contemporary acrylic portrait that brings together realism with abstract elements. Layers of vibrant tones of pink, deep raspberry and a pale blue have been applied in thin and thick layers and loosely blended, creating an abstract background with depth and texture. Several layers of very thin and translucent colours form the image of the face, creating a veiled effect that allows some of the underlying colours to shine through. The addition of pops of neon pink capture the illusion that the face is 'glowing'. Colourful and bold, yet soft and dreamy, this painting is a vibrant statement piece. Sent rolled in a tube.

I live in Adelaide South Australia and hold qualifications in graphic design and a masters in Urban Planning. I primarily like to create larger scale portraits with acrylics on canvas, but sometimes incorporate collage, water colour, pencil and pastel elements. My paintings consist of spontaneous, abstract style backgrounds with a more realistic and detailed image overlaid on top, so that the two meet and fuse together to become one. I tend to favour two or three bold vibrant colours and black. Black not only provides depth and definition but adds the contrast that really makes the colours 'pop' with brilliance and vibrancy. Nearly all of my paintings contain some element of texture - texture you can really see and feel.
