Bart Vinckier is a painter working and living in Bruges, Belgium. His work is abstract and breathes freedom in every brush stroke and improvisation in each gesture. “Bart Vinckier works in layers; he takes his time. A work is reworked, set aside and reworked again. Canvases in dark shades of blue or white to pale pink worlds alternate. The canvas becomes his world. Like playing children building their camp in the forest with leaves, branches and rope. The way they guard this camp and enforce their own rules? This is how the canvas becomes Bart Vinckier’s sanctuary. He sets the rules here. Being stuck in pondering and thoughts is banned here.
