Steve De Saas/ Slawek Wisniewski/ Polish born , American artist, living in Southern California, Los Angeles area. M.D. Diploma from Poland, however always involved in creative arts mostly presented as oil painting on canvas. First shows in 1980-s ,Honorata Gallery -Lodz-/Poland/. Member-Zwiazek Plastykow-Polska /Poland/,Member- Slide Registry Dept. of Cultural Affairs-Los Angeles. Succesfully showed his art in ARSG-Los Angeles County Museum of Art and affiliated with this gallery for five years. In later years, showing works in galleries of L.A. area. Then for few years working with group of NOHO-artists called EVA. Painting mostly surrealism, trompe l'oeil still lifes and now working on series of paintings showing expressions of Los Angeles. At present time I'm working on series of paintings that show the escape from technical reproduction of reality. The major factor triggering conceptions of the series is City of Los Angeles, with many variations of the meaning. The plan is to make invisible visible ,bringing the unconscious process as far as possible. The colors in my paintings are specifically chosen fulfilling the intentional illusions in my interpretation of the city. I like to show on canvas the emotional part in reception of Los Angeles. Since 2021 -I am working on series of paintings with use of original Yves Klein Blue (International Klein Blue) color./Bleu Outremer 1311/   In new works I use also scribbles, as automatic form , intuitive and emotional ,non-linguistic visual signs to display reference to landscape or semiotic expression of thoughts. There are also some lines of poetry chosen from Rainer M. Rilke written across the paintings. In May 2023 work included (Malibu- oil on canvas) in Art Show of Zwiazek Artystow Plastykow Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej in Poland.  In September/October 2023 group show in Vienna Woods Gallery-Los Angeles. Brewery Artwalk -October 2024 and Brewery Artwalk May 2025, Los Angeles. In previous years paintings presented in shows- Art Walk Venice Beach ,Ca., Barnsdall Art Park-Hollywood/Honorable mention/,Gallery Vis-à-vis-Redondo Beach, Bar One Club on Sunset in Hollywood, Cody Gallery -Los Olivos, Laguna Art Museum, Lancaster Art Museum.
