With a degree in civil engineering and undergraduate coursework in architecture from Arizona State University, I've always been fascinated with art that communicates the built environment. However, I also appreciate the beauty of nature in all it's forms and enjoy representing nature through oil painting. Most of my paintings gravitate toward realism and seek to create an inviting scene that welcomes the viewer. Two artists I really admire are Winslow Homer and Jean Mannheim, Both artists expertly use color and create the appearance of movement to produce dramatic and inspiring paintings.
