About the Artist

Tom Bourne

United States

I was inspired to start painting in my late 50's after my youngest son died unexpectedly. I find that painting allows me to get out of my head, so to speak, and focus completely on what I am doing. My painting style is abstract with lots of color. I use any object that facilitates my creativity when painting including brushes, knives, sponges and scrapers, among other things.

When I am not painting, I am riding my bike or working on my photography and videography. My artistic background before painting was as a professional photographer of sports and nature. My photography work is widely published under various corporate names and has previously been featured in a local art gallery. I currently live in Jacksonville, Florida. I paint for life, for a living I am a computer programmer.
