ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A vibrant field or red poppies flows with energy and color in this warming tribute to veterans and their families. Inspired by the poem "In Flanders Field" and the flower that has become a symbol of the beauty and healing that can be found in the aftermath of war, Saltiel contributes to the this heartfelt iconography. This work is also in honor of Saltiels husband, a combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient and the men and women with whom he served.

“I love what I do and am dedicated to creating art that inspires connection and uplifts the viewer." As a contemporary impressionist artist, I am inspired by the natural beauty around me and my background as a botanical illustrator is evident in my style . My passion as an artist, is to capture the beauty I see and share that with the viewer in a way that inspires and creates joy. My work reflects my love of color, light and the innate optimism of my personality. The artistic process for me involves doing a series of plein air paintings on site, that are then used as reference for large scale works that I complete in my studio. The result is paintings that saturate a room with beauty, joy and inspiration. A move from Washington state to Paris, France at the age of 16 began my lifelong love of art. After 20 years of living in artistic mecca’s such as Paris and New York, I seized an opportunity to create my own works. What initially started as a hobby, quickly became a full-time business with my first solo exhibit of 52 works occurring within the first year. I am honored to be a Saatchi artist .
