ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Neighborhood walks are part of my artistic practice. It is always inspirational to walk before and or after a painting session. This is a corner up the hill from my home in San Diego, a corner that always takes my breath away as I turn it. That feeling of breath being taken away is a special one and this painting is very special to me. I used graphite to draw the houses. I wanted them to be more accurate, and be surrounded by a more expressive painting style showing that we all have things in our lives that is controllable as well as uncontrollable.
