ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Chanukah story is a well known story. However looking to portray it without the common symbology is hard. The Assyrian/Greeks were described as coming in on their mighty war Elephants. While the Jews (Maccabees) were described as lions, bears and eagles. Set to a scene with a scarce olive branch in the frame which we know the olive oil played an important part of the Miracle.
