ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a unique, original encaustic painting of the Innocent Games series, a work designed to express infinite space through colors, materials, and textures. This series forms a transition between figurative and abstract painting. Cheerful spots of colorful paper airplanes in abstract space, what symbolize nature. This painting was created by layering different materials and colors over time, burning with a torch to create depth and contrast with the recycled MDF surface. This layering plays with the lace patterns of the shellac and offers great painting that lends style and texture to the space. In my work, the limited controllability of liquid wax, the spread of inks, and the burning of shellac create one-time and unrepeatable paintings. This ensures the uniqueness of the painting you own. The Innocent Games series consists of 3 encaustic, mixed media on MDF (70x50x1 cm). Ready to hang, framed. Available after January 8, 2022. Now exhibited in Budapest at the Újpest Gallery. This work will be delivered with Care Instruction of my encaustic paintings and a signed certificate of authenticity. Carefully packaged and tracked shipping. I ship this works in cardboard boxes carefully wrapped in bubble foil and protect the painting with cardboard. If you like my paintings you can have a piece of art for your beloved place.

„I show the details instead of the whole, sort of inviting the viewer to embrace and understand their surroundings” Dora Stork was selected artist in the London Art Biennale in 2023, an award-winning Hungarian painter whose art has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Hungary, and Romania. Her work can also be found in many private collections in the United States, the European Union, and Japan. Dora is an abstract realistic encaustic artist: abstract in the world of color, realistic in the world of form, and symbolist in meaning. As a politically minded painter, she is interested in public life as well as social and economic processes. She presents her particular vision in these works. The dreamlike compositions are her intuitive reflections on public issues. At the same time, seemingly astonishing, strange circumstances and inappropriate details on a rational sphere might evoke questions in the viewer. She mainly uses pure wax and pigments to make her paintings. Over the years, she has developed a medium that does not contain oil or any non-waxy additives. When she occasionally paints with acrylic, the characteristics of her figurative style transform into an imaginary interpretation of nature. Dora is an active, awarded member of her community and regularly takes part in their group exhibitions every year.
