Painting allows me to express my vivid imagination in boundless ways, creating intriguing and thought provoking compositions. Alluring dreamlike images with cosmic and mystical connotations emerge becoming material reality. I think of my paintings as candy for the eyes just as music is for the ears... universal languages. With the first stroke of the brush, the painting comes alive. The collaborative relationship of my subconscious thoughts harmonizing with my conscious actions influence the evolution of the painting....the painting leading me and me leading the painting....until the composition reveals to me it is complete. The creative process is a ritualistic, meditative and magical experience that is spiritually fulfilling......... Born 1955 in Portsmouth, Ohio...... In 1977, I pursued studies in Architecture and Painting at Ohio State University receiving a BFA in 1979. I was encouraged to follow and explore my personal style of painting by the attending art professors, notably...Larry Sauselen, E.F. "Hebe" Hebner, Joe Perilla and others. In 1979, I relocated to South Florida, residing primarily in Key Largo and Miami. In 2016, after the passing of my parents, I returned to my family home, pursuing my passion for painting and my pastime for playing guitar and fiddle.
